With online check-in you can print your boarding pass before the airport or use mobile boarding passes in the Air NZ mobile app, so you'll only need to use the kiosk or counter if you have luggage to check in. Electronic boarding passes are accepted at all NZ domestic ports.
In some situations we can't issue a boarding pass online. You'll need to complete check in at the airport if:
- You haven't met the entry and transit requirements (such as a visa, ESTA or proof of onward ticket) for your destinations
- You are departing from an airport where home printed or mobile boarding passes are not accepted, such as Norfolk Island, Singapore Changi International and Ngurah Rai (Bali) International
Please note, online check-in is not available for flights departing Niue so you will need to check in at the airport. Check-in and bag drop for flights departing Niue close 120 mins before your flight departs.
Online check-in opens 24 hours before your flight. If you're checking in a bag, remember that you still have to tag and drop your bags before bag drop closes. You can check-in via your Air New Zealand mobile app, or by clicking on the link in your Air New Zealand online check-in email. The final check-in and bag drop completion times for your flight is listed on your e-ticket, on your Air New Zealand mobile app, or in the information provided by your travel agent.
Please note, once you have checked in online you are unable to cancel your check-in. If you have checked in and you do not plan to fly, please contact us.
You can use online check-in if your journey starts on an Air New Zealand operated flight. Online check-in is unavailable for unaccompanied minors and some passengers requiring special assistance.
